Heart's Content Bed and Breakfast - Canton, MS
Heart's Content Bed and Breakfast was built circa 1903 by Annie and Louis Hossley. Louis P. Hossley, operated a saloon known as Wohner's Corner on the town square in Canton, Mississippi. The saloon business proved to be profitable and shows in the details incorporated into their home. Crystal chandeliers adorned the lower rooms, of which the dining room fixture still remains. All of the ceilings in the home are 12 feet high and covered in ornate "punched tin". The center hall features a grand mahogany staircase, prime for welcoming any blushing bride. On the newel post stands Cupid holding his bow and arrows.
Heart's Content is a short walk from the Historic Courthouse Square where you will find antique shops and shopping. The Courthouse Square and other parts of Canton were film locations for "A Time To Kill", "O Brother, Where Art Thou", "My Dog Skip" and others.
Heart's Content also is the only home in Canton with an elevator! The wrap around porch with rocking chairs, wicker sitting areas, and large columns will truly take you back in time to when life was enjoyed on the porches of America. We are located between I-55 and the Natchez Trace, convenient for bicyclists and motorists.
