Chigger Ridge B&B - Pegram, west of Nashville, TN
| Chigger Ridge was a neat experience. It was "off the beaten trail" somewhat, but worth the short drive. Jane and Doug were very interesting folks. We all enjoyed meeting them and talking about "who we all are". Doug was an Alabamian by birth and went to college about a mile from my current residence. Jane's mother was also from Alabama. That was cool. The house was great! We had the upstairs to ourselves and it was very comfortable and accommodating. The privacy was just what we all love-we are all "country girls" living in big cities. So, we loved the big porch and woods all around. The breakfast was delicious and most filling. The cook was from Clarksville, where my cousin Bec is a professor at Austin Peay. The cook, Tracy, has 2 children that attend Austin Peay. So, we had a great visit there. We got lucky with the weather and had 2 days of no rain in which to ride the Trace. It rained both nights, but cleared the next day for us to ride. God is Good! We ate lunch the first day at the Loveless Cafe and it was like better than "mama's" home cooking. We ate lunch at Puckett's Grocery in Leipers' Fork the next day and we recommend the burgers and especially the sweet potatoe fries. The "town" was very interesting and quaint. Enjoyed seeing it. Chigger Ridge Bed and Breakfast was very clean, comfortable and Jane went above and beyond to make the start of our Natchez Trace bike ride a smooth one. We really appreciated her letting us leave our car at Chigger Ridge during the ride. Gary and Deb |
