The newest addition to Arcadia Publishing’s popular Images of America series is Building the Natchez Trace Parkway from the Natchez Trace Parkway Association. The book boasts more than 200 vintage images and memories of days gone by.

Highlights of Building the Natchez Trace Parkway:

• The book is part of the commemoration of the 75th anniversary of the parkway.
• The book tells how the commitment of one woman, Roane Fleming Byrnes, persisted through decades to encourage the federal government to build a three-state national park.
• The project brought together community leaders from three different states.
