Camp Wonder Wander Retreat and Campground - Hohenwald, TN

COVID-19 Information about Camp Wonder Wander

We are open.

Camp Wonder Wander allows for self-isolated groups rather than multiple travelers at the same time. To allow time for thorough cleaning we won't be doing back to back reservations - departures/arrivals on the same day. We are implementing a new check-in procedure using a RING doorbell for arrivals at various times as well as to keep social distancing.

Looking for an outdoor's social distancing experience? Consider Camp Wonder Wander's campground.

Until things are completely back to "normal" we are also offering a virtual travel experience! click here.

As the "crow flies", Camp Wonder Wander is about seven miles from the Natchez Trace Parkway. Driving some of Middle Tennessee's beautiful country roads, Camp Wonder Wander is an 18 to 20 mile drive from the parkway.

Immerse in natural splendor at Camp Wonder Wander featuring a variety of ecology in this light pollution free zone of the Western Highland Rim where you’ll be encouraged to disconnect to reconnect. The location, between Waynesboro and Hohenwald, is just over an hour and half drive from Nashville in the lovely rural rolling hills of Lewis County with a total of 17 acres and about 500 feet of Buffalo river frontage.

Inspired by travels and a youth filled with nature and girl scout camping, this space designed and managed by a former professor is a rustic combination of a farm stay with chickens, donkeys, and organic garden with fruit trees; primitive campground on the Buffalo River; and an artist/writer residency and art space with burgeoning open gallery (think murals and installations) and even a pottery studio for workshops. Camp Wonder Wander has scheduled retreat workshops and is also available for your personal retreat, vacation or group travel. Bicyclists welcome (ask about our shuttle service if needed)! Bring out your inner child with this summer camp style experience. All ages welcome.
