Bicycle Route: we recommend biking on TN Hwy 20 from the Trace to Hohenwald rather than US 412 because the Hwy 20 route is 3 miles shorter and there is a 24" to 30" wide paved shoulder on both sides of Hwy 20 (US 412 has a very wide shoulder about halfway to Hohenwald and then very little shoulder the rest of the way). If you have a support vehicle and will drive from the Trace to Hohenwald the best place to stop biking and "load up" in your vehicle is at the Meriwether Lewis site where there is a large parking area next to a bathroom just off the parkway.
