We arrived by bicycle. Carol arrived within minutes of our phoning her of our arrival. Every place we stayed had a special impression, but Carol was a special host to us. She was very interested in hearing about us, our travels, even the ones that weren't the bicycle trip we were on. We stored our bicycles in the sunroom and learned when it was time to check the air in our tires before departing in the morning, we realized the pump we were carrying lost one of its parts and no longer working. Carol, without a thought, immediately offered us one of her pumps! Our plans were to bicycle south to Natchez from Nashville and return by bicycling north back to Nashville we knew we would be back to return the pump to Carol. It all worked out beautifully. Carol had a great sense of humor and laughed at all of my hubby's corny jokes. We stayed in Room 4 upstairs. It was comfy and the bed was perfect. In the upstairs community space there was an abundance of DVDs, complementary soft drinks and individually wrapped snacks (great treats after a long day's ride). A self service coffee area was available for getting started in the morning. The coffee was excellent and we forgot to ask Carol what brand it was. There are plenty of chain-type restaurants to eat in the area. Breakfast is the best - a complete assortment of mixed fruit salad, juice, eggs anyway you like, biscuits, grits and plenty of it. You will not leave hungry! Lastly, if you like surrounding yourself in history and conversation, this B&B is not to be missed! There are lots of memorabilia items displayed about that brought back many happy childhood memories. Lastly, by the quantity of positive replies on the website it's obvious your stay will be equally as enjoyable.

My husband and I spent a night at the Bridges-Hall Manor B&B while we were in Houston, MS for a family matter. We were both pleasantly surprised by how delightful the B&B is. All of the antiques and artwork were amazing! Carol has such an eclectic taste in so many things. And the grounds outside were welcoming as well. There is a very cozy seating area in the back of the house that is just charming! Carol and Marina are so welcoming as well. Talk about southern hospitality! You will certainly find it there! And the breakfast - oh, my! It was a southern breakfast that was absolutely delicious!! The B&B is certainly a jewel to be found in Houston, MS! We would certainly recommend it to anyone.

My husband and I took an unplanned trip through Houston, MS while heading to Columbus, MS for an air show and to visit our son. Fortunately for us all the local hotels were either booked or extremely overpriced. So we decided to stay at Bridges Hall Manor and we were not disappointed! Ms. Carol was pleasant and welcoming from the time she answered the door. Her charming and well kept home immediately became our home. She made excellent local dinner suggestions. After a great nights rest, I woke to the smell of our delicious (and I do mean DELICIOUS) breakfast being prepared downstairs. I felt like I was back at Grandma's house. After thoroughly enjoying our breakfast and a wonderful visit with Ms. Carol, we headed on our way with the promise to return in very near future. Ms. Carol is the true definition of southern hospitality, her home will leave you rested, and her breakfast will not leave you hungry. Tell her The Tackett’s said hello!

Bridges-Holl Manor was one of my favourite places to stay while cycling the Trace. While it was a little off the beaten path, being a good 4 1/2 miles or more from the Trace, it was well worth the extra miles. I was so grateful for the distinctive colour of the home, which made it easy to spot as I rounded the corner hoping I was heading in the right direction. I was welcomed by Carol who was most helpful making sure my bike was locked up safely (you can still access your bike, it’s to make sure no passerby can run off with it), and giving me all the information I needed. Carol told me what I needed to know, then left me to get situated and relax, something I was most appreciative of after a long day cycling. The room was warm and comfortable, and had all the amenities I needed. Carol also washed my clothes and hung them to dry. There are a couple of fast food restaurants directly across the road: McDonalds, Hardees, and KFC, though at this moment in time Hardees is being refurbished. There are also some restaurants in town. I ate at KFC and it was delicious - and so convenient! This was the fifth day of my trip, and I hadn’t been sleeping well. However, I slept so well and deeply at Bridges-Hall! The breakfast was hands down the best breakfast I had this whole trip. The fruit salad alone was one of the best I’ve ever had. The breakfast included biscuits, hash brown casserole, grits, eggs, bacon, sausage…SO good. It killed me I couldn’t finish it all. I still think about that breakfast with longing…oh man it was good. Carol was so kind, and helped me greatly on my journey, going above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and safe. Hope I can stay here again! Really enjoyed chatting with Carol and meeting Marina. That amazing breakfast!

Our cycling group filled the Manor up for one night as we pedaled from Nashville to Natchez along the NTP. Carol was an amazing host and the accommodations were extremely comfortable. She is also an amazing cook and filled us up with an outstanding breakfast before we left. I highly recommend staying here as you pass through.

If you were looking for a perfect example of Southern charm and hospitality, you could do no better than Bridges-Hall Manor. Proprietor and hostess Carol made us feel so welcome. After a long day cycling the Natchez Trace, the clean and comfortable room furnished with interesting artifacts, antiques and memorabilia offered a pleasant alternative to the usual sterile motel accommodation. Less than five miles from the Parkway, restaurants are a short walk away. Carol generously supplies bottled waters, sodas, light snacks and coffee. And the breakfast the next morning! Fresh fruit salad, juice, coffee, homemade biscuits and jams, scrambled eggs, cheese-potato casserole, grits, sausage and bacon. Delicious fuel for at least the next 80 miles. Thank you Carol and Marina.

Bridges-Hall Manor B&B was our overnight stay Day 4 on our Natchez Trace Bicycle Ride 2019.

Bridges-Hall Manor hostesses Carol Koutroulis and Marina were great. They saw at once we were exhausted and brought us bottles of water as soon as we arrived. They also made us a carry out lunch the following morning.

Carol Bridges is a wonderful hostess. Her property was well situated not far off the Trace and it was well appointed. She is very accommodating and engaging. Her breakfast was superb! A true Southern breakfast. She also kindly mailed a package home for me. The location is well served by a great little Tex-Mex restaurant and two fast-food restaurants right across the street from her property. I highly recommend her location while on the Trace.

Biked the Natchez Trace in early May and Bridges-Hall Manor was my favorite B&B. Not only is the house beautiful, but Carol is the ultimate hostess. When I told her I wanted to leave early (6:30) in the morning she had the most awesome breakfast ready for me at 6:00! Everything about my stay was perfect.

Ditto all the other comments about how hospitable and helpful Carol is, and about her amazing home! Marina's breakfast was fantastic! She even went to the store for us, as we were biking! It was wonderful chatting with Carol! No Way Jose's was great for supper, and a 5 minute walk from the house. A wonderful B & B!

My wife and I rode a motorcycle up and down the Natchez Trace. Houston is the 1/2 way point so we stayed 2 nights with Carol. Carol was a delight, the house and bed were way above expectation and her breakfast was the best we could have hoped for. I even ate the Grits! Thanks Carol.

We had a lovely time. Carol was a wonderful host. We were biking from Nashville and she let us leave our car there so it would be available when we finished. The room was comfortable and the shower was hot. It was a great stay.

My husband and I stayed overnight at Bridges-Hall Manor during the middle of March while bicycling the Natchez Trace. Carol and Marina took excellent care of us. We love meeting folks at B&Bs, so we especially appreciated Carol taking the time to sit and talk with us during the evening. Breakfast was tasty and generous. And Carol waved us onto the road in the morning just like a fond mama would do.

Bridges Hall is really a cut above most places. The dining rooms are tasteful; the breakfast is top quality; the house has more Impressionist prints and throw pillows than you can possibly imagine. The array of books and movies is far beyond what you can find at your public library. The brand new Tanglefoot paved trail leads endlessly to the north, and there is even a modern restroom in New Houlka.

What a great B&B! Carol was wonderful. She caters to every need you might desire! Snacks, drinks, sweets, and luxurious rooms. So much to look at and enjoy. Breakfast was fantastic. Thank goodness for southern cooking. Carol is a jewel worth visiting.

We love this place! Carol was warm and gracious--she worried about us arriving on our bikes on a rainy rainy day. The accomodations were superb, and she made room for all ten of us, even providing a place for us to play Scrabble. BHM was definitely a highlight of our cycling trip down the Natchez Trace Parkway!

Carol - Thank you for such a welcoming stay at Bridges-Hall Manor. Your home is so beautiful and your southern graciousness makes for the perfect host! Breakfast was absolutely wonderful, but you really need to market those biscuits! Thank you for your sweet hospitality.

I considered making an entry in Wikipedia for the term "Southern Hospitality" and just putting a picture of Carol at this house under it. I really can't say enough good things about her in a review. When I read other people's reviews saying how they felt at home here I felt like they stole my thunder. I wanted to say how welcome and at home I felt here!

I'm generally not a big fan of B&Bs. This is the only one I've ever stayed at where I really did feel totally comfortable. Carol is THE most gracious, sweet, kind hostess I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. She has the perfect personality for owning a B&B. As for the breakfast... WOW. Eggs, bacon, cheesy potatoes, grits, biscuits, fresh fruit... Can I say "Wow" again? I had tried grits exactly once before and never wanted to experience them again. After Carol's grits, I'm a convert. Although I'm guessing that she's now spoiled me and no one else's grits will ever measure up.

Her home is every bit as gracious and welcoming as Carol is. She has seen to every little detail to make sure you have what you might want. Books, movies, microwave popcorn, cold drinks, hot drinks, even mints on the nightstand. She greeted me with homemade zucchini bread that was sooooooo good! The bed was comfy; the linens had lace trim; the house was spotless; the antiques beautiful. If I'm ever anywhere near this area again you can bet that I'm going to stay here.

If you're biking on the Trace, Carol will let you secure the bikes on the screened-in porch too. I've submitted the information to get this B&B listed on Tripadvisor. I was surprised it wasn't already there. Now if I can only figure out how to rate it with six stars (out of five) once they get it in the system! Just to put this in perspective, it takes a lot for me to rate something 5 stars. I'm one of those that tries to save the top ratings for places that really deserve them. I can happily and whole heartedly recommend Bridges-Hall Manor.

Very comfortable home, filled with antiques. We loved our room, the bed was so plush and comfortable. The house is in the heart of Houston, and a great Mexican restaurant is within walking distance. We especially were appreciative that we were able to leave our car here while we biked the Natchez Trace, and that when our last day of cycling was cold and rainy, Carol was VERY helpful in finding someone to shuttle us and our bikes from Tupelo to Houston. Breakfast was delicious, especially liked the grits!

What a beautiful house. Carol could not have been warmer or more welcoming. We enjoyed chatting with the other guests (all originally from Houston) over a fantastic breakfast. This was a great stop on our bike ride down The Trace.

An overnight at Bridges-Hall Manor is a visit to the past-to Grandmother's house or your favorite aunt's. The house is charmingly decorated with antiques that are reminiscent of those from our youth. Carol, the owner and our hostess is a true Southern lady, the epitome of Southern Hospitality. Her warmth, graciousness, and friendliness were evident from the time we walked in the door until we left 2 days later. And her full Southern breakfast with creamy grits was delicious. Do visit - you'll love the experience!!

Bridges-Hall Manor B&B is a comfortably warm, taken-you-back-in-time, restful retreat. Carol is a very charming person, and we enjoyed visiting over breakfast with her. Breakfast - was truly southern and delicious! Learning some of the home's history was very interesting. Carol thinks of every little amenity to make her guests feel welcome. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend a visit to this great B&B.

We were made to feel at home. We had a great visit together and Carol was the best hostess. What a lovely place with her display of collections. And the country breakfasts and chicken dinner were delicious, nothing like that anywhere near there. We left fully rested, full, and eager to come back!
