The Pilgrimage Historical Association sponsors the Natchez Antiques & Design Forum to promote and preserve historic landmarks, Stanton Hall and Longwood, and to educate the public about the cultural beauty of Natchez, Mississippi.

Southern Belle Époque

The La Belle Époque period, from the end of the Franco-Prussian War in 1871 to the outbreak of World War I in 1918, is known as "the beautiful era". The period was one of optimism, prosperity, and scientific and cultural innovations. During this time the arts flourished and reality languished.

This year's forum will examine the influence of Belle Époque upon Natchez. Simultaneously, Natchez was experiencing the influence of the Gilded Age where the effects of both movements can be seen in breathtaking architecture and landscapes, exuding wealth and beauty. Learn about the impact of Tiffany in Mississippi, the role of the mighty Mississippi River, and the charming stories of Mark Twain as the forum moves through the eras of Bell Époque and the Gilded Age to Victorian opulence.
