Description

Nature Events held at Timberland Park located on the Natchez Trace Parkway at milepost 437.2 (just south of Hwy 96 and the Double Arch Bridge.

  • October 19: Guided Hike - 3:00pm-4:30 (Registration#: 12927) Join park staff on a guided hike! We will discuss the natural history of some of the different plant and animal species in the area. Hike will be between 1.5-2 miles. Moderately strenuous.
  • October 27: Halloween Celebration - Come out and see live animals, courtesy of Walden’s Puddle. We will also have guided hikes, pelt presentation, owl pellet dissection, and more!
  • November 2: Fall Color Hike - 4:00pm-5:00pm (Registration #:12926) Join park staff for a fall hike and enjoy the colorful leaves. We will discuss the changing of the seasons and much more!
  • November 9: Guided Hike - 4:00pm-5:00pm (Registration#: 12925) Join park staff on a guided hike! We will discuss the natural history of some of the different plant and animal species in the area. Hike will be between 1-1.5 miles. Moderately strenuous.
  • November 10: Mammal Pelts - 2:00pm-2:45pm (Registration#: 12930) Have you ever wanted to feel how soft an otter’s fur is? Or perhaps you want to pet a coyote. This is your chance to do so safely! Come out to the park for a talk about some of Tennessee’s native mammals and also get a chance to feel their pelts.
