Natchez Trace Parkway Cyclist

Moon Lake Farm is located 6.5 miles west of the Natchez Trace Parkway at the McCullough Blvd exit (milepost 262.5). McCullough Blvd, from the Parkway west towards Moon Lake Retreat for 3.5 miles has a lot of traffic and no shoulder.

Moon Lake Farm has two guest suites and four tent sites.

Bicycle Amenities
  • Food: Breakfast is not included. Guests may bring their own food to prepare if they wish - each suite has a microwave, mini-fridge and coffeemaker and there is a kitchenette area in the screened-in porch. There are restaurants and markets located between the parkway and the retreat.
  • Bike Tools: hand pump, air compressor and Bicycle Repair Tool Maintenance Kit (see picture)
  • Bicycle Storage: Bicycles can be stored overnight in the locked garage next to the suites.

Biking the Parkway North to South without a support vehicle?

From the Parkway to Moon Lake Farm (13.2 miles):

  • Turn right at the Parkway Visitor Center (milepost 266) - across from southern end of parking area onto unmarked road.
  • Bike west 0.3 miles to Beech Springs Road.
  • Turn right onto Beech Springs Road and bike north 2.1 miles to Birmingham Ridge Road.
  • Turn left onto Birmingham Ridge Road and bike west 1.0 miles to County Road 461.
  • Turn left onto County Road 461 and bike south 2.6 miles to Mount Vernon Road.
  • Turn left onto Mount Vernon Road and bike south 0.5 miles to Barnes Crossing Road.
  • Turn right onto Barnes Crossing Road and bike west 2.0 miles to Coley Road.
    Barnes Crossing Road becomes Coley Road south of I22/US278.
  • Bike south 0.5 miles on Coley Road to Old Belden Circle.
  • Turn right onto Old Belden Circle and bike west 0.4 miles to McCullough Boulevard, MS 178.
  • Turn right onto McCullough Boulevard and bike northwest 0.5 miles to Endville Road.
  • Turn left onto Endville Road and bike west 3.2 miles to Moon Lake Farm.
  • Moon Lake Farm will be on your left.

From Moon Lake Farm to the Parkway (12.9 miles):

  • Turn left onto Endville Road and bike west 0.8 miles to Chesterville Road.
  • Turn left onto Chesterville Road and bike south 5.1 miles to McPherson Road Lane.
  • Turn right onto McPherson Road Lane and bike south 0.5 miles to Locust Lane.
  • Keep left onto Locust Lane and bike south 1.3 miles to West Main Street.
  • Turn right onto West Main Street and bike west 200 feet to Bissell Road.
  • Turn left onto Bissell Road and bike south 2.9 miles to County Road 900.
  • Turn left onto County Road 900 and bike east 0.2 miles to County Road 261.
  • Turn right onto County Road 261 and bike south 1 mile to Palmetto Road.
  • Turn right onto Palmetto Road and bike west 0.6 miles to the Natchez Trace Parkway.
  • Turn left onto the on ramp and then right onto the Parkway at milepost 256 and continue biking south.

Biking the Parkway South to North without a support vehicle?

From the Parkway to Moon Lake Farm (12.9 miles):

  • Turn left at milepost 256 onto the Palmetto Road exit.
  • Turn right onto Palmetto Road and bike east 0.7 miles to County Road 261.
  • Turn left onto County Road 261 and bike north 1 mile to County Road 900.
  • Turn left onto County Road 900 and bike west 0.2 miles to Bissell Road.
  • Turn right onto Bissell Road and bike north 2.8 miles to West Main Street.
  • Turn right onto West Main Street and bike east 200 feet to Locust Lane.
  • Turn left onto Locust Land and bike north 1.3 miles to McPherson Road Lane.
  • Turn left onto McPherson Road Lane and bike north 0.5 miles to Chesterville Road.
  • Turn left onto Chesterville Road and bike north 5.1 miles to Endville Road.
  • Turn right onto Endville Road and bike east 0.8 miles to Moon Lake Farm.
  • Moon Lake Farm will be on your right.

From Moon Lake Farm to the Parkway (13.2 miles):

  • Turn right onto Endville Road and bike east 3.4 miles to McCullough Boulevard, MS 178.
  • Turn right onto McCullough Boulevard and bike southeast 0.5 miles to Old Belden Circle.
  • Turn left onto Old Belden Circle and bike east 0.4 miles to Coley Road.
  • Turn left onto Coley Road and bike north 0.5 miles to Barnes Crossing Road.
    Coley Road becomes Barnes Crossing Road north of I22/US278.
  • Bike east 2.0 miles on Barnes Cross Road to Mount Vernon Road.
  • Turn left onto Mount Vernon Road and bike north 0.5 miles to County Road 461.
  • Turn right onto County Road 461 and bike north 2.6 miles to County Road 1950.
  • Turn right onto County Road 1950 and bike east 0.2 miles to Birmingham Ridge Road.
  • Stay straight onto Birmingham Ridge Road and bike east 0.8 miles to Beech Springs Road.
  • Turn right onto Beech Springs Road and bike south 2.1 miles to Parkway access road (unmarked).
  • Turn left and bike east 0.3 miles to the Parkway.
