Blythewood Inn Bed & Breakfast is a 6,500 square foot antebellum home constructed circa 1858 in the French Colonial style. Blythewood is one of many antebellum homes found throughout Columbia and the surrounding countryside. Columbia and Maury County are known as the "Antebellum Homes Capital of Tennessee," with more pre-Civil War homes than any other county in the state.

The home has survived 160 years of history. When Blythewood was built many of President James K. Polk’s relatives lived nearby. The home has witnessed the Civil War, a tornado, and movement from country living to now within Columbia’s city limits. It has been owned by carriage builders, hotel builders, lawyers, bankers, doctors and other entrepreneurs. Blythewood was added to the National Historic Registry in 1972.

Today, Blythewood Inn offers six luxurious guest suites furnished in period furniture, comfortable and inviting beds and modern conveniences such as Smart TV, Wifi, and steaming hot baths/showers. Common areas include the well-stocked library filled with vintage books and the front parlor filled with collectibles.

Breakfast and Additional Meals:
Breakfast is served in the formal dining room with its rare mural walls installed in 1900, in the front parlor or weather permitting on the back sun drenched patio. Breakfast is hearty and hot and may include a breakfast casserole, omelet, bacon, sausage, eggs, grits, biscuit, and gravy, fruit, coffee, tea, and juice. The selections will be the chef’s choice each day. Special dietary needs can be accommodated upon request.
