We arrived by bicycle. We loved Port Gibson! The history, the people we met in town, the huge older homes that lined main street and the ease of finding dinner close by (well, chain restaurants). We arrived to Isabella B&B thinking that we'd meet Bobbye (the owner who booked our reservation). Booking our reservation was a piece of cake. We did meet a charming, friendly and warm Isabel instead. Isabel is the new owner, like 7 days new, and was a wonderful host. Isabella B&B was beautifully renovated by Bobbye and her husband before he passed away, only months before Isabel purchased the B&B. We stayed in the Nancy Room and it was spacious and immaculate; as well as the entire home. There was a comfortable community room for the guests to congregate on the main level as well as on the upstairs and downstairs porches. Breakfast was filling and prepared to order; eggs, coffee, fresh fruit salad and toast. Isabel, you're off to an excellent start and we hope to stop in again.

We enjoyed staying at Isabella B&B and talking to her owners, Bobbye and Phil. We are so glad that they saw the potential of the house and converted it to this wonderful B&B. We enjoyed pizza and beer on the upper verandah and a hearty breakfast in the sun porch. The oatmeal is awesome with rum and butter extracts in it.

A beautiful B&B, and gracious hostess! Wonderful to chat with Bobbye and Phil, who provided very interesting information on the town, the area, and hunting! Wonderful breakfast...just sorry we didn't try the grits! Would stay again!

Such a breath of fresh air and even though it is near to our town,we had a wonderfully relaxing weekend . Bobbye is truly one of the most hospitable ladies that we have ever met in any of our travels and when you get Phil to speak,he is alot of fun too. If you want to experience true Southern Hospitality, you need to stay with these nice and very accommodating folks. We may see you there!

We stayed at several B&Bs along the Natchez Trace Parkway as we cycled it from Nashville to Natchez, but we all agreed that Isabella was the best! Bobbye and Phil were extraordinary hosts, and the food was excellent. We enjoyed the oral history of the house and its previous residents, as well as the restoration that was done to get it to its present state.

The reason this is an excellent property is the house itself, with Tiffany stained windows and wood floors, the location on the Trace between Clinton and Natchez, and especially the owners. They show a genuine hospitality and knowledge of the area. It is also unusual in that they serve a good evening meal as well, with beer and wine available. For bikers, they discovered a "back" way to get there without taking the narrow roads connecting the trace. There is a maintenance facility on the Trace, you walk around it to get to the city streets. They will have the details.

We were two couples bicycling the lower quarter of the Natchez Trace and stayed here going south and again going back north. Bobbye and Phil couldn't have been more accommodating – they attended to our every need and then some, even helping with transportation to retrieve our vehicle when one of us needed to get off the bike. The B&B was most comfortable. Spacious rooms, great bathrooms, and delicious meals. Southern hospitality at its finest!

Thank you for a wonderful experience. The house is beautiful. We were especially happy to find a restaurant where we could have a wonderful dinner as well as breakfast. Bobbye and Phil were excellent hosts, catering to us as well as our bicycles. Thank you.

Ok, after our first day of a bike trip we were tired and just a little apprehensive about what to expect. When Bobbye offered cold beer, we knew we were in the right place. Our bikes were taken care of, the dinner and breakfast was great. We were so comfortable in our room, watching TV in the parlour, and enjoying the front porch with fellow guests. Highly recommended.

Just what we wanted in a B&B: warm & gracious hosts who made us feel at home, large & comfy rooms in an elegant, historic house, and great food.

Our favorite B and B on our recent biking trip. The innkeepers were indeed wonderful. So thoughtful and considerate of our every need. The rooms are large and comfortable. The food was excellent as well. Well done Bobbi and Phil!

Great home. The house is beautiful & the food is incredible. We were so happy & impressed about how the owners made us feel so at home. They told great stories, hugged our kids and made them feel like they were family. My wife woke up with a stomach virus (we were doing 200 miles of the trace by bicycle) the next day. We got 5 miles down the trace & she couldn't go anymore! The owner of Isabella came out and picked my wife up and took her to our next stop almost 40 miles away while me and the kids continued by bicycle!! They saved our vacation! They should teach a class on customer service because they are masters!

The Isabella was a charming refuge in our biking trip along the Natchez Trace. We arrived at sunset, tired and sore, went to our huge bedrooms upstairs, with its gracious connecting porch and swing, took a shower and had a wonderful, homecooked meal prepared by the owner. She knew we were hungry and brought out seconds. Could not have had a better stay.
