Elgin Plantation Bed and Breakfast - Natchez, MS
A ten minute drive from downtown Natchez will take you over a hundred years into the past. Built from 1792 to 1855, this was the home of a pioneer horticulturist of antebellum Natchez.
In 1853, his diary describes the building of the "new house" being built at the rear of Elgin Plantation. This two-storied brick building is now the bed and breakfast guest house with three bedrooms, two and a half bathrooms, living room, dining room and kitchen.
Guests are treated to a tour of the home and are invited to enjoy the 25 acres of informal gardens that are filled with huge, moss-filled oaks. Elgin Plantation is one of the tour homes on the Natchez Spring Pilgrimage of Antebellum Homes held during March and early April. B&B guests are treated to a tour of the 1792 home after breakfast.
