The creek and heavy shade create a cool spot to enjoy a picnic. Usually a lot of great fall foliage can be seen here in late October and early November.

The Highland Rim Trail section of the Natchez Trace National Scenic Trail horse and hiking path traverses past Burns Branch. There is no horse trailer parking at Burns Branch but hikers can park here and then hike on the trail either to the north or the south. For more information, pictures and maps about the Highland Rim Trail click here
