Farmhouse Sanctuary Bed and Breakfast - Florence, Alabama
Farmhouse Sanctuary B&B is located in northwest Alabama near the Natchez Trace Parkway and the Wichahpi Commemorative Stone Wall (Te-lah-nay's Wall).
For the past several years Farmhouse Sanctuary has been a refuge for abused, neglected and found animals including wild mustangs, horses, sheep, goats, donkeys, cows, chickens and cats and dogs. Now, the farm, agglomeration of animals and the innkeepers at Farmhouse Sanctuary welcome you to their new bed and breakfast.
Farmhouse Sanctuary is a great place to stay for those looking to:
- Get away from city life for a few days.
- Spend some time observing the animals.
- Traveling and sightseeing along the Natchez Trace Parkway.
- Visiting nearby Florence, Alabama.
- See and hear the story behind the "stone wall" built by Tom Hendrix.
- Cyclists: A one night stay while "thru biking" the length of the Natchez Trace Parkway or staying multiple nights as a "home base" as you bike up and down this area of the Trace.
- Enjoying, appreciating and perhaps purchasing some of the wood furniture items on display and in use at the B&B.
- If you are traveling with horses. the B&B can provide a place to stay for your horses in the pasture (no stables are available).
In preparation for guests, the farmhouse has been completely remodeled. Walls have been replaced and insulation added to provide additional sound proofing between rooms. New ceilings, floors, windows, AC/Heat have been added to create a comfortable place to stay. The B&B has five guest rooms each with a private bathroom.
B&B guests enjoy a full breakfast including fresh eggs provided by the farm's chickens. A coffee maker, tea kettle and small fridge are available for guests to use. A wood-fired oven can bake fresh pizzas and breads (with advance notice - great for cyclists biking without a vehicle). There is a fireplace in the dining room (for cold nights) and one outside (for stargazing).
